National Dissemination Event in Bulgaria under the Young Eco Inspectors project
On the 18th of October 2024, the National dissemination event within the frame of the Young Eco Inspectors project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, took place in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria. The event was organized in the conference hall of Hotel Hebar by the Regional Energy Agency of Pazardjik (REAP).
The meeting started with a welcome opening speech by representatives from the Pazardzhik Municipality.
A representative from the communal enterprise Vodovod, North Macedonia presented Intellectual Output 1 – Handbook for secondary school teachers “How to implement an Activity-based educational concept for tackling of the water and air pollution challenge in STEM-related secondary school subjects” and the Intellectual Output 2 – Software solution on the internet platform for data collecting and analyzing of water and air pollution.
Experts from the Regional Energy Agency of Pazardjik, Bulgaria presented the Intellectual Output 3 – Strategic Document with recommendations for improving the local policies/strategies in tackling water and air pollution challenges in the municipalities of Pazardzhik, Kochani, and Larissa. They also made a review of the Intellectual Output 4 – Document for establishing of a long-term transnational strategic partnership among different types of socio-economical organizations for the improvement of educational processes in the municipalities of Pazardzhik, Bulgaria, Kochani, North Macedonia, and Larissa, Greece.
During this event, the Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) Programme was overviewed by a volunteer who participated in it as a project partner of the Coop4RuralGov project. This project aims to foster inter-regional cooperation and exchange of good practices between 7 public and private organizations from Spain, Estonia, Ireland, and Bulgaria to make regional impact assessment (Rural Proofing) a routine part of the decision-making process in sparsely populated rural, coastal and mountainous areas. The main objective of the IVY initiative is to make Interreg projects much more visible among the citizens who benefit from them and among the general public. It was clarified that along with local actors, IVY volunteers tackle the challenges that Europe and its neighbouring regions are facing, helping to find and implement common solutions.
The conference continued with presentations and videos of the long-term teaching assignment activities by each partner school of the Young Eco Inspectors project from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Greece.
The event concluded with a rewarding ceremony of the winning student’s team from Bulgaria.
