First teachers’ training event in Greece
In the period of 7th – 12th of July 2024, a partners meeting and the first kindergarten teachers’ training event took place in Athens, Greece under the project Kids & Laws, funded under the Erasmus+ Programme.
The event started with a welcome and introduction to the training. The first part of the teachers’ training was on the topic: “How to encourage tolerance and reduce discrimination among preschool-age children”. This part was held by an Expert from NGO CSEG from Pazardzhik, Bulgaria, under whose guidance the teachers worked in mixed teams, carrying out practical exercises.
The first working day finished with organized small group discussions and an evaluation of the implemented activities. During Parallel Working Session 2, the project management team members (team leaders from each project partner) worked on the final adoption of the Communication Plan.
On the second working day teachers’ training was held on the topic: “Using eTwinning networking platform” from an expert from NGO AVENA. The practical exercises were related to creating eTwinning accounts and opening/creating an eTwinning project. A presentation on using of the open educational resources (OER) for the presentation of realized activities on the eTwinning platform was done.
The parallel working session continued with the creation of Intellectual Output 2 – Document on establishing a transnational strategic partnership for the improvement of educational processes in the regions of Kochani – N. Macedonia, Velingrad – Bulgaria and Athens – Greece.
The next topic for the training of kindergarten teachers was: “Rule of law and respect for human rights”. A workshop for implementation of the educational approach based on “case studies” for children of preschool age (story playing scenarios were prepared) was organized by experts from NGO CSEG from Pazardzhik, Bulgaria. Kindergarten teachers were trained with educational methods to reduce aggression among preschool children.
At the end of the event, the results were presented to the Project Management Team and a final evaluation was made. Then discussions to prepare the next activities of the Kids & Laws project were carried out.
