Invitation to the National Conference of ABEA – Association of Bulgarian Energy Agencies

On November 13, the next national round table on financing energy efficiency investments will be organized in Sofia, which will also mark the beginning of the fifth National Renovation Day, where leading experts from the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and representatives of European institutions will present the current programs and policies for the renovation of the building stock. European objectives and challenges in decarbonization will be discussed, with examples of successful practices from Estonia and Bulgarian municipalities. This will be followed by discussions on innovative financing models for energy-efficient renovation, with the participation of representatives from the World Bank, Renovate Europe, EPBD.wise, FEEVI, Fund of Funds and others.

The event will also open the XVIII National Conference of the Association of Bulgarian Energy Agencies, and on the second day, November 14, the main focus will be on educational projects and training for the transition to clean energy. Roadmaps for improving qualifications in the building sector, innovative training materials with virtual reality, and methods for training professionals for zero-emission buildings will be presented. Association Center for Sustainability and Economic Growth (CSEG) will show the European project Cooltorise – Summer energy poverty and cooling measures in the summer season, and an expert from the association Regional Energy Agency of Pazardzhik (REAP) will present the EAGER project: Agro photovoltaics as an opportunity for sustainable agriculture and renewable energy production. The afternoon programme will include a workshop on combating energy poverty and sessions on engaging citizens in the energy transition through energy communities and integrated service centers. The conference will conclude with a discussion and review of future initiatives for sustainable development in the energy sector.

The event is organized by the Energy Efficiency Center EnEffect, Municipal Energy Efficiency Network EcoEnergy, together with the Coalition “Let’s Renew Bulgaria” and the Association of Bulgarian Energy Agencies.
