Young Eco Inspectors project – part of the ABEA conference

On 27.11.23 in Sofia was launched the XVII National Conference of the Association of Bulgarian Energy Agencies – ABEA, which lasts for three days. The event covered a number of relevant and useful for society topics related to environmental protection and the transition to clean energy.

The conference was held in a hybrid form – an attendance part and the possibility of online participation. This enabled a large number of interested individuals to participate. The main participants were mainly public administrations, energy agencies, representatives of the NGO sector, business associations, civic associations and other stakeholders.

During the first day 3 different discussion sessions were organized. Regional Energy Agency Pazardzhik (REAP), participated in the last session on “Skills for the clean energy transition: existing market gaps and emerging good practices”. In this session interesting solutions and initiatives funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union were presented. Mr. Martin Ivanov, Senior Expert at REAP, had the opportunity to present the project “Young Eco Inspectors”, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. The main objective of the project is to develop, implement and promote an activity-based educational concept for secondary school students to address the environmental challenges faced by communities in the regions of Pazardzhik – Bulgaria, Kochani – North Macedonia and Larissa – Greece.
